This coffee comes from plantations in the municipality of Valparaiso in the southwestern part of Antioquia - the region that ranks first in the country in terms of coffee cultivation area. The region is located in the northwest of Colombia. It was here that Colombians first began to grow coffee, and in 1927 the National Federation of Coffee Producers of Colombia was created. ‎
Most of the region is located in the mountainous area on the central and western slopes of the Andes. Antioquia is characterized by a tropical climate and fertile volcanic soils. Coffee cultivation here is carried out by both small family ‎
productions and large farms with good technical equipment. Among the varieties, the most popular are Castillo, Colombia, ‎
Typica, Caturra. Mangoes, avocados, ‎
corn are also grown in the region. ‎
