Burundi is a landlocked, mountainous country located in East Africa, between Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The main coffee growing regions lie at altitudes between 1,200 and 2,000 meters above sea level, mainly in the western and northern parts of the country, near Lake Tanganyika and along the Nile-Congo watershed. ‎
