🌍 About the Region ‎
This coffee comes from Uraga woreda, one of the highest and most renowned areas within Guji zone, southern Ethiopia. Guji was once considered part of Sidamo but has recently been recognized as a distinct specialty coffee region due to its unique terroir and cup quality. ‎

Guji is known for: ‎

High elevations — up to and above 2300 masl ‎

Rich, well-drained volcanic soils ‎

Annual rainfall: 1500–2500 mm ‎

Ideal temperatures: 15–24°C ‎

Tropical highland climate with dense forest coverage ‎

The region’s natural environment creates perfect conditions for growing exceptional arabica, known for its floral, citrusy, and tropical cup profile. ‎

🏞 About Haro Wachu ‎
Haro Wachu is the only Tracon-owned washing station dedicated to experimental processing, while still producing clean, classic washed coffees. ‎

The station benefits from: ‎

Skilled local labor, ‎

Consistent cherry supply from over 500 smallholders, ‎

Resources and infrastructure to maintain quality control. ‎

Local farmers grow coffee on small family-owned plots (1–2 hectares), often passed down through generations. The dominant cultivars are 74410 and 74412, which have shown excellent resilience to the local environment while maintaining a refined cup character. ‎
