This grain originates from the Yirgachefe district in southwestern Ethiopia. Yirgachefe is famous for one of the highest quality coffees in the world, which is achieved thanks to the warm tropical climate, fertile soils and high altitude. The plantations here are at an altitude of 2,000 m.a.s.l. This altitude qualifies Yirgacheffe coffee as Strictly High Grown (SHG) /Strictly Hard Bean (SHB). This means the berries ripen more slowly, giving the tree extra time to deliver nutrients to the cherries and develop vibrant flavors.
Many years of history and traditions of local farmers allow coffee to be grown naturally without the addition of chemical fertilizers, which makes it organic and environmentally friendly.
The Adorsi processing station was established in the village of the same name in Shakiso district in 2018 by the trading company Testi. The station is located at an altitude of 1900 - 2100 meters above sea level. and serves about 800 farmers in the region.
