Gisanga coffee is grown in Mbuye Sector, Ruhango District in Rwanda's Southern Province.
This territory is located at an altitude of 1650-1850 m.a.s.l. in the highlands of the Congo-Nile watershed.
The conditions of this region are considered one of the most favorable for cultivation food crops in Rwanda. The local climate is characterized by an average annual temperature of 18°C - 20°C; 1100-1300 mm of precipitation. Soils are mainly volcanic Inceptisols, without accumulation of clays, iron oxide, aluminum oxide and organic substances.
The Gisanga Processing Station is used by 850 local farmers of the Koakambu Cooperative who work with Tropic Coffee Ltd.
