This bean comes from the Guji zone of the southern Oromia region, which is considered the birthplace of coffee. It has ideal conditions for growing Arabica: high altitude (over 1,500 m); rich, well-drained (mainly volcanic) soils that hardly require additional fertilizers; highland tropical climate with 1,500–2,500 mm of rainfall over a nine-month period and optimum temperatures between 15 and 24°C. ‎

Over the past 60 years, rapid commercial and cultural development has transformed Guji into a unique coffee area that has become a separate administrative unit since 2002. Coffee from here represents a characteristic terroir that distinguishes it from other beans of the Oromia region. ‎
The Sewda processing plant was established in Benti Korba village in Shakiso district in 2018 by the trading company Testi. The station is located at an altitude of 1850 - 2100 m.a.s.l. and serves about 500 farmers in the region. It has NOP and EOS Organic certificates. ‎
